About Boston City Florist
Located at 714 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215, Boston City Florist operates as a florist serving Boston in Massachusetts. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as florist, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Florists in the United States range from neighborhood flower shops with a walk-in cooler to studio designers who work only by appointment for weddings and events. Most retail florists build arrangements to order, deliver the same day when you call before early afternoon, and belong to a wire network (FTD, Teleflora or BloomNet) that passes out-of-town orders to a local shop. Ordering from the shop directly rather than through a national website usually means more flowers for the money, because no order-gatherer takes a cut. Flower markets and wholesalers sell loose stems and bunches, often early in the morning, and many now open to the public. Flower farms grow seasonal blooms such as dahlias, peonies and sunflowers and sell by the bucket, by subscription or as pick-your-own.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Boston is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Boston peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place is great. Came in to buy a $75 bouquet the other day and Alyssa helped me pick out a beautiful arrangement, they really have a ton of flowers to choose from. I highly recommend!

I ordered flowers for my significant other scheduled for a week from when I placed the order to celebrate our anniversary. The order instead arrived the day after I placed it, almost a week before our anniversary. The website also stated the arrangement would include tulips, it came with roses. I did not receive an email or phone call or a follow up about tulips not being in stock. My significant other was also woken up at 8 in the morning to multiple spam phone calls telling her to "pick up her flowers immediately". I am very dissapointed as I called this morning to ensure that she did not find out about these flowers until she got back home from work and saw that there were flowers waiting for her at the front desk. Its quite frustrating as I was an out of state customer trying to make our anniversary as special as possible since we are so far apart. I specifically ordered tulips as it hold significance to our relationship and the fact I did not receive any notification that roses would be used instead AND it was delivered almost a week too early is EXTREMELY dissapointing and frustrating. The lady I talked to was extremely helpful and nice, but the owner only refunded the deliv

Great customer service! Nick was so patient with me and my order. He went above and beyond to put it together and deliver it on time. The plants and cut flowers were so bright and cheery and colorful. Calling in an order, and living out of state is always concerning, but not with Boston City Florist. Thank you for putting my mind at ease and making this process easy.

Very disappointed with this experience. Not the quality I expected or paid for, and certainly not the service I had hoped for. I ordered a $150 "designer's choice" arrangement for delivery to an artist performing at the Citizens House of Blues. I requested big, bold flowers like peonies or hydrangeas and was assured that's what I'd get. I said that delivery any time after 4pm would be great; I was assured they'd be delivered by 5pm. As I was in line early at the venue, I knew that nothing had been delivered by 5pm. I called the florist and was told they would look into where the delivery was. I understand that there may have been a problem because the road leading to the House of Blues was closed to vehicle traffic (there was a commencement ceremony at Fenway Park), but still, no phone call to let me know? At 6pm I finally received a very rude phone call from the delivery person saying that I had better come quick to get the flowers because they weren't able to leave them with anyone at the venue. I ran to front of the venue to find the delivery person with a vase of flowers. There was at least one broken stem, and none of the flower types I had requested. Compared to the arrangem

I almost never write negative reviews, but this experience was so upsetting that I feel I have to speak up. I brought a few flowers that I purchased from Trader Joeβs to Boston City Florist, hoping they could help me wrap them properly. I was also more than willing to buy additional flowers from the shop and pay a reasonable wrapping fee. Instead, I was met with an extremely rude older man who behaved in a very pushy and unprofessional manner. He almost forced several bouquets on me without properly explaining or asking for my consent. What made it worse was the so-called βwrappingβ β no ribbon at all, just an ugly piece of string holding everything together. It looked cheap, careless, and completely unacceptable for a florist shop. The whole experience was surreal and unpleasant. To make matters worse, I was then charged $50 for this mess. This shop is located inside Boston University, and it honestly feels like they are taking advantage of students who may not feel comfortable arguing or walking away. The final result was something I could not accept at all β both the service and the product were far below any reasonable standard. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and
